Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Georges Croegaert could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art auction, the work Le Mot Juste changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 11,001.48) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Georges Croegaert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Les indiscrets in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 58,750.00 (€ 100,420.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Georges Croegaert konnte im Januar 2017 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art wechselte die Arbeit Le Mot Juste für USD 11.875,00 (€ 11.001,48) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georges Croegaert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Les indiscrets im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 58.750,00 (€ 100.420,55).
