The work Cardinal Taking Coffee by Georges Croegaert was sold in the The European Art Sale Part II auction at Sothebys in New York in January last year. It achieved a price of USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,618.98), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Croegaert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les indiscrets in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 58,750.00 (€ 100,420.55).

Die Arbeit Cardinal Taking Coffee von Georges Croegaert wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion The European Art Sale Part II bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.618,98) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Croegaert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les indiscrets im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 58.750,00 (€ 100.420,55).
