Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Marine Sale, which included the work In The Tropics by George Wolfe. The price achieved of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,201.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Wolfe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The coast near Land's End, Cornwall, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,751.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Tropics von George Wolfe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.201,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Wolfe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The coast near Land's End, Cornwall beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.751,62) versteigert wurde.
