Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Wolfe could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction, the work A lighthouse on a rocky promontory changed hands for GBP 95.60 (€ 144.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Wolfe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The coast near Land's End, Cornwall in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,751.62).
