Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Aboriginal Art, which included the work MAMULTJULKULUNGA, 1998 by George Tjungurrayi. The price achieved of USD 37,800 (€ 30,908) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as USD 30,000 - 50,000. Other works by George Tjungurrayi have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2007 the work was auctioned for AUD 60,000 (€ 36,144).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Aboriginal Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit MAMULTJULKULUNGA, 1998 von George Tjungurrayi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.800 (€ 30.908) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000 – 50.000 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von George Tjungurrayi konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2007 die Arbeit für AUD 60.000 (€ 36.144) versteigert.
