In July 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Legends, Landscapes, and Lovelies | Photographs, which included the work Petit'S Mobil Station by George Tice. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,493.29) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Tice - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Petit's Mobil Station and Watertower, Cherry Hill, N.J., which sold at auction in October this year for USD 24,130.00 (€ 22,833.08).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Legends, Landscapes, and Lovelies | Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Petit'S Mobil Station von George Tice zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.493,29) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Tice mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Petit's Mobil Station and Watertower, Cherry Hill, N.J. beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für USD 24.130,00 (€ 22.833,08) versteigert wurde.
