Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Stainton could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime Art auction, the work Warships anchored in the early morning haze changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 746.87) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Stainton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blyth, Northumberland in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,819.49).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Stainton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blyth, Northumberland im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.050,00 (€ 11.819,49).
