This artwork by George Sheringham achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2011. In the The Sunday Sale auction, the work The Indian Cinderella, illustration for Canadian Wonder Tales by Cyrus MacMillan; and another illustration for the same publication sold for GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,147.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Admittedly, works by George Sheringham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kenwood in October 2012 with an auction result of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,439.55).
