The work Design for a fan: A harem beauty attended by a leopard by George Sheringham was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2008. The price achieved of GBP 937.50 (€ 1,191.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by George Sheringham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kenwood in October 2012 with an auction result of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,439.55).
