Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,368.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Rodger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Champion of a Korongo Nuba Wrestling Match is Carried Shoulder High, Kordofan, Southern Sudan, which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,074.14).
