The work News vendor during the Blitz; Victoria Station; Parish visit after an all night raid; Art students decorate boarding on shattered shop fronts by George Rodger was sold in the The London Sale auction at Christies in London in May 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,368.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Rodger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Champion of a Korongo Nuba Wrestling Match is Carried Shoulder High, Kordofan, Southern Sudan, which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,074.14).
