Auction result well in line with expectations
In February this year Bonhams held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Three Lines Up with Gimbals by George Rickey. The price achieved of USD 40,695.00 (€ 38,384.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Rickey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work One Fixed Four Jointed Lines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 519,000.00 (€ 465,512.60).
