Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Carlotta Grisi as La Esmeralda at Her Majesty's Theatre, 1847; and Lucile Grahn as Orithia in Les Camp des Amazones at Her Majesty's Theatre, 1847 by George Patten was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,915.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Patten have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cupid imploring time to spare beauty in February 2011 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,968.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Carlotta Grisi as La Esmeralda at Her Majesty's Theatre, 1847; and Lucile Grahn as Orithia in Les Camp des Amazones at Her Majesty's Theatre, 1847 von George Patten kam im November 2009 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 1.915,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Patten auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cupid imploring time to spare beauty im Februar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 9.968,82).
