In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations, which included the work The Alhambara by George Owen Wynne Apperley. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,089.68), 66% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by George Owen Wynne Apperley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Artist'S Wife On A Terrace Above The Alhambra, Spain in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,363.80).

Im Juni 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Alhambara von George Owen Wynne Apperley zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.997,50 (€ 3.089,68) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Owen Wynne Apperley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Artist'S Wife On A Terrace Above The Alhambra, Spain im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.363,80).
