The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,765.88), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Morley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work British Gentleman With A Horse And Groom, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,388.32).
