Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Gossipers' by George Pemba was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October 2020. The price achieved of GBP 8,812.50 (€ 9,785.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Pemba have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a woman carrying a gourd in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 35,062.00 (€ 40,695.40).

Die Arbeit 'Gossipers' von George Pemba kam im Oktober 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.812,50 (€ 9.785,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Pemba auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a woman carrying a gourd im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.062,00 (€ 40.695,40).
