Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2021 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Goanna and Kangaroo totems by George Milpurrurru. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 300.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 307.50 (€ 255.61). Admittedly, works by George Milpurrurru have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Herons catching fish, 1993 in April 2021 with an auction result of AUD 1,845.00 (€ 1,533.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Goanna and Kangaroo totems von George Milpurrurru zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 300,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 307,50 (€ 255,61) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Milpurrurru auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Herons catching fish, 1993 im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.845,00 (€ 1.533,67).
