In the Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale auction, the work Mimi natanguilia ila baadaz mtanikuta pale pale kweyne ule mti mkubna kuliko yote ('I will be the first but you will find me right there in the biggest tree') changed hands for GBP 956.25 (€ 1,099.97) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by George Lilanga di Nyama have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Man Wears Glasses To See His Relatives' and 'Every Body Eats His Own Food' in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 7,562.00 (€ 8,776.98).
