Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Are you sure? by George McNeil. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,638.25) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George McNeil - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Holiday, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 27,400.00 (€ 18,462.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Are you sure? von George McNeil zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.638,25) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George McNeil mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Holiday beobachtet, die im Januar 2008 für USD 27.400,00 (€ 18.462,37) versteigert wurde.
