Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2013 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, British and Impressionist Art, which included the work On The Thames, Quarry Wood, Near Marlow by George Hyde Pownall. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,504.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Hyde Pownall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Piccadilly Circus; and The Empire, Leicester Square in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 18,125.00 (€ 20,192.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, British and Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit On The Thames, Quarry Wood, Near Marlow von George Hyde Pownall zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.504,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Hyde Pownall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Piccadilly Circus; and The Empire, Leicester Square im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.125,00 (€ 20.192,86).
