Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by George Howorth achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2017. In the American Art auction, the work Alexander Hamilton sold for USD 87,500.00 (€ 77,874.69) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by George Howorth; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Alexander Hamilton sold at auction in December 2020 with the realized price of USD 163,800.00 (€ 133,932.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Howorth erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Alexander Hamilton für USD 87.500,00 (€ 77.874,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von George Howorth; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Alexander Hamilton im Dezember 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 163.800,00 (€ 133.932,95).
