Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Drawing Cover; And Breaking Cover (One Illustrated) by George Henry Laporte for GBP 360.00 (€ 533.54). This price was achieved in the auction MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Henry Laporte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Noblemen Before Constantinople in April 2014 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 68,469.27).
