Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction AT HOME - BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Méditation by George Henry Boughton. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,015.75 (€ 1,461.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Henry Boughton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Tanagraean Pastoral in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 15,275.00 (€ 18,000.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion AT HOME - BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Méditation von George Henry Boughton zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.015,75 (€ 1.461,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Henry Boughton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Tanagraean Pastoral im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.275,00 (€ 18.000,24).
