In October 2001 Christies in London held the auction British And Continental Watercolours And Drawings, which included the work Time for a top up by George Goodwin Kilburne, Jr.. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 350.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 376.00 (€ 607.67). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Goodwin Kilburne, Jr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Lion guarding his Den in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 48,000.00 (€ 37,848.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion British And Continental Watercolours And Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Time for a top up von George Goodwin Kilburne, Jr. zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 350,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 376,00 (€ 607,67) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Goodwin Kilburne, Jr. erzielen.
