Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art, Wildlife & Dogs, which included the work On the scent by George Goodwin Kilburne, Jr.. The price achieved of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,412.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Goodwin Kilburne, Jr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Lion guarding his Den in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 48,000.00 (€ 37,848.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art, Wildlife & Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the scent von George Goodwin Kilburne, Jr. zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 960,00 (€ 1.412,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Goodwin Kilburne, Jr. erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Lion guarding his Den im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 48.000,00 (€ 37.848,92).
