Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work The unicyclists by George Gibson for GBP 58.75 (€ 85.81). This price was achieved in the auction At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Gibson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pier in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 8,225.00 (€ 9,181.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The unicyclists von George Gibson für GBP 58,75 (€ 85,81) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Gibson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pier im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.225,00 (€ 9.181,74).
