This artwork by George Faulkner Armitage achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in February 2019. In the The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street auction, the work Fine Art Society Gallery Armchair sold for GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,770.52) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by George Faulkner Armitage have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Fine Art Society Drawing, Print And Folio Table in February 2019 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,788.87).
