Sold at the lower estimate price
In April 2005 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work A Natural History of Uncommon Birds: Five Plates by George Edwards. The result of USD 1,200.00 (€ 928.86) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by George Edwards have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Twelve Ornithological Studies, from A Natural History of Uncommon Birds in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,541.27).
