Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Denholm Armour could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations auction, the work A saddled donkey; and A tented camp changed hands for GBP 29.38 (€ 45.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Denholm Armour achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lion and Lioness at Rest in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,655.57).
