Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work His Royal Highness, Prince Albert by George Baxter for GBP 168.00 (€ 240.71). This price was achieved in the auction THE COLLECTION OF THE LATE MRS E M TOMLINSON at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Baxter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gems of The Crystal Palace, Sydenham (The Exterior), which sold at auction in March 2006 for GBP 420.00 (€ 601.78).
