In August 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work In Canada Yard, Surrey Commercial Docks by George Ayling. The price achieved of GBP 836.50 (€ 1,238.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Other works by George Ayling have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2011 the work The Isle Of Wight was auctioned for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,429.94).
