Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Ayling could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Victorian Pictures auction, the work Cottage Interior changed hands for GBP 240.00 (€ 343.88) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by George Ayling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Isle Of Wight in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,429.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Ayling konnte im März 2006 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures wechselte die Arbeit Cottage Interior für GBP 240,00 (€ 343,88) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Ayling auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Isle Of Wight im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.429,94).
