This artwork by Genieve Figgis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September this year. In the 10th Shanghai Auction Anniversary: 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work Social Portrait sold for CNY 1,260,000.00 (€ 163,095.24) - well above the upper estimate of CNY 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Genieve Figgis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Debutants Ball, which sold at auction in March last year for CNY 4,032,000.00 (€ 573,196.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Genieve Figgis erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 10th Shanghai Auction Anniversary: 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Social Portrait für CNY 1.260.000,00 (€ 163.095,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CNY 500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Genieve Figgis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Debutants Ball beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für CNY 4.032.000,00 (€ 573.196,07) versteigert wurde.
