Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Allard De Megève by Gaston Gorde was auctioned at Christies in London in January 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,145.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gaston Gorde - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Downhill Skier, which sold at auction in January 2014 for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,046.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Allard De Megève von Gaston Gorde kam im Januar 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.145,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gaston Gorde mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Downhill Skier beobachtet, die im Januar 2014 für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.046,30) versteigert wurde.
