Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A shepherd herding his flock in an extensive mountainous landscape by Gaston Anglade was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 763.75 (€ 1,196.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gaston Anglade - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work En Corrèze, le matin, which sold at auction in December 2004 for GBP 3,346.00 (€ 4,735.51).
