Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A swag of flowers in a niche, with grapes, plums and peaches on a plinth; and A swag of flowers in a niche, with pears and grapes on a plinth by Gaspar Peeter Verbruggen the Younger was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 20,000 – 30,000, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 16,250 (€ 17,067) Admittedly, works by Gaspar Peeter Verbruggen the Younger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tulips, roses, carnations, lilies, chrysanthemums and other flowers in an urn on a stone ledge, a bough of oranges, pears, grapes, cherries, nectarines and plums above in December 2001 with an auction result of GBP 52,875 (€ 86,390).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A swag of flowers in a niche, with grapes, plums and peaches on a plinth; and A swag of flowers in a niche, with pears and grapes on a plinth von Gaspar Peeter Verbruggen the Younger im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 17.067,23) den Besitzer.
