Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work A Landscape With Travellers Stopping To Rest By A River by Gaspar de Witte. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,020.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gaspar de Witte - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spring: elegant figures on a boating lake, others dancing around a Maypole; and Autumn: figures harvesting apples (2), which sold at auction in July this year for GBP 32,000.00 (€ 37,334.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Landscape With Travellers Stopping To Rest By A River von Gaspar de Witte zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.020,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gaspar de Witte mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spring: elegant figures on a boating lake, others dancing around a Maypole; and Autumn: figures harvesting apples (2) beobachtet, die im Juli diesen Jahres für GBP 32.000,00 (€ 37.334,30) versteigert wurde.
