Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Beverly Hills, California (from the portfolio 'Women are better than men. Not only have they survived, they do prevail.') by Garry Winogrand was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,088.00 (€ 983.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Garry Winogrand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Women Are Beautiful in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 91,862.48).

Not only have they survived, they do prevail.') von Garry Winogrand kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.088,00 (€ 983,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
