Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Bioform I by Gani Odutokun. The price achieved of GBP 7,040.00 (€ 8,083.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gani Odutokun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work African Womanhood VII (Alakara), which sold at auction in October 2021 for GBP 16,380.00 (€ 19,405.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bioform I von Gani Odutokun zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.040,00 (€ 8.083,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gani Odutokun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit African Womanhood VII (Alakara) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für GBP 16.380,00 (€ 19.405,88) versteigert wurde.
