Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2005 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS ON PAPER, which included the work A Game With A Beetle by Gabriella Rainer Istvanffy. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 216.00 (€ 314.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gabriella Rainer Istvanffy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In the garden, which sold at auction in March 2007 for GBP 840.00 (€ 1,236.38).
