This artwork by Gabriele Münter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Skinner Marlborough, Mass in October this year. In the Art Moderne auction, the work Im Café sold for EUR 107,100.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gabriele Münter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gelbes Haus mit Apfelbaum (recto); Landschaft (verso) in March last year with an auction result of GBP 1,782,000.00 (€ 2,112,761.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gabriele Münter erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in Skinner Marlborough, Mass einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Moderne wurde die Arbeit Im Café für EUR 107.100,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gabriele Münter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gelbes Haus mit Apfelbaum (recto); Landschaft (verso) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.782.000,00 (€ 2.112.761,56).
