Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rolling Life's Hand Line by Gabriel Orozco was auctioned at Phillips in 17 - in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,810.00 (€ 3,457.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gabriel Orozco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dandelion in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 795,000.00 (€ 681,233.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rolling Life's Hand Line von Gabriel Orozco im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 17 - versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.810,00 (€ 3.457,35) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gabriel Orozco erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dandelion im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 795.000,00 (€ 681.233,93).
