Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Study of a seated man reading, with a cat on his lap by Gabriel-Jacques de Saint-Aubin for USD 1,008.00 (€ 872.58). This price was achieved in the auction Master Paintings and Drawings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gabriel-Jacques de Saint-Aubin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Incendie De L'Hôtel-Dieu En 1772 in March 2016 with an auction result of EUR 373,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Study of a seated man reading, with a cat on his lap von Gabriel-Jacques de Saint-Aubin für USD 1.008,00 (€ 872,58) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Master Paintings and Drawings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gabriel-Jacques de Saint-Aubin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'Incendie De L'Hôtel-Dieu En 1772 im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 373.500,00.
