Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of EUR 4,375.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Govind Madhav Solegaonkar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le marché, which sold at auction in September 2012 for EUR 12,500.00.

Die Arbeit Taking a rest von Govind Madhav Solegaonkar kam im September 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 4.375,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Govind Madhav Solegaonkar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le marché beobachtet, die im September 2012 für EUR 12.500,00 versteigert wurde.
