A top price for Fu Baoshi
This artwork by Fu Baoshi achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April this year. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Beauty sold for HKD 16,764,000.00 (€ 17,119,323.91) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 8,000,000.00. This high result makes Beauty the most expensive artwork by Fu Baoshi that we have observed at auctions so far.
