Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sunrise at Pompeii 29 1/4 x 48 in. (74.0 x 122.0 cm) framed 41 1/2 x 60 x 4 1/4 in. by Friedrich Paul Nerly was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,518.21). Admittedly, works by Friedrich Paul Nerly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blick auf die Bucht vor Neapel und dem Vesuv im Hintergrund in May 2013 with an auction result of EUR 19,350.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sunrise at Pompeii 29 1/4 x 48 in. (74.0 x 122.0 cm) framed 41 1/2 x 60 x 4 1/4 in. von Friedrich Paul Nerly im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.825,00 (€ 3.518,21) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Friedrich Paul Nerly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blick auf die Bucht vor Neapel und dem Vesuv im Hintergrund im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 19.350,00.
