Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A young officer, in red-lined green coat with red collar, silver epaulettes, short curling dark hair, wearing the Commander cross (2nd class) of the Grand-Ducal Hessian Order of Louis (founded 1807), the Knight cross of the Imperial Russian Order of by Friedrich Jakob Hill was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2008. The price achieved of GBP 525.00 (€ 551.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Friedrich Jakob Hill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Friedrich, Prince of Prussa (1794-1863), circa 1820 in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,378.08).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 525,00 (€ 551,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Friedrich Jakob Hill auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Friedrich, Prince of Prussa (1794-1863), circa 1820 im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.024,00 (€ 3.378,08).
