Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2005 Christies in London held the auction Exploration and Travel with The Polar Sale, which included the work Panoramic view of the Bay of Rio de Janeiro by Friedrich Hagedorn. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,800.00 (€ 15,849.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Friedrich Hagedorn have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2011 the work A view across Guanabara Bay to Rio de Janeiro, from central Niteroi was auctioned for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,425.83).
