In April 2006 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work A Venetian canal by Friedrich Ernst Morgenstern. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,560.00 30% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Friedrich Ernst Morgenstern - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work German Gondolas On A Canal, Venice, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,626.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Im April 2006 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Venetian canal von Friedrich Ernst Morgenstern zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.560,00 und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Friedrich Ernst Morgenstern mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit German Gondolas On A Canal, Venice beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 9.626,78) versteigert wurde.
