Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Portrait of Edward Conroy (1809-1827), Half-Length, In A Black Coat And Red Scarf by Frederick Yeates Hurlstone. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 525.00 (€ 703.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick Yeates Hurlstone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Lady Louisa Finch, full-length, in a red dress, beside a column, in a landscape in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,264.83).
