Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Edward Conroy (1809-1827), half-length, in a black coat and red scarf by Frederick Yeates Hurlstone for GBP 275.00 (€ 341.01). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Frederick Yeates Hurlstone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Lady Louisa Finch, full-length, in a red dress, beside a column, in a landscape in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,264.83).
